The History of Gunpowder is an experimental “freak-out” ensemble from Vancouver, known for blending genres like jazz, blues, soul, and art rock into a unique, energetic sound. Formed in 2014, the band is famous for its theatrical and immersive live shows, which often incorporate elements like burlesque dancers, gymnasts, and other performance artists. Led by vocalist Alex Morison, the band has a large and ever-changing cast of musicians and has toured across Canada and Europe, building an international following for its boundary-pushing and high-energy performance
