A True Hallowed Eve
An all ages event, featuring music by Humans, DJP, Upside Down Ninja with visuals by Tetragrammaton. Dance performances, licensed ‘Fangtasia Bar’ for 19+ and other sexy surprises await on the most wickedly magical night of the year, True Blood style…
A little about each artist:
Robbie Slade and his partner, Peter Ricq, respectively the guitarist-vocalist and the Roland-MC-505-bashing artist behind the eye-candy (including posters and videography) are Humans. And they’re moving fast. Like a bat outta hell, their swift ascension in the music world is impressive, to say the least. Having been together less than two years, Humans have had the opportunity to share the stage with such acts as Junior Boys, LA Riots, Broken Social Scene, Crystal Method, Clipse and K’naan. They also performed at two of BC’s largest summer festivals (Shambhala, Big Time Out) and venue-oriented ones like Olio and Rifflandia Festivals last September. Their video for the Daft-Punk-gone-dub dance-floor champ “Bike Home” was conceptualized by Slade and Ricq, naturally, directed and shot the crisp, guerrilla effort, which subsequently rocketed to the number five spot on the Hype Machine.
Along with celebrating their new release of first album Avec Mes Mecs, Humans will be bringing a new, unreleased video, “The End”, to be screened during their performance. A very fitting addition to the evening as it’s supposed to be a real gore-fest…
Joining Humans, once again, is our nefariously talented DJP. Known for seductively luring in crowds with her eccentric, contemporary tastes she intelligently weaves together a climactic journey of music, carefully handpicked from a seemingly never-ending rotation of solid artists. DJP’s style of mixing is a dance floor’s most trusted accomplice, providing a perfect balance of seamless transitions and heavy-hitting drop-kicks of beat. Get staked…
Upsidedown Ninja has been caressing his vinyl long enough to build a smooth reputation as ‘the guy with the mellow beats’. Not only is he a rock-solid member of the Velvet Lettuce crew, but his dance moves rub both ladies and gentlemen the right way with his funked up, concrete-jungle grace. Keep the peepers peeled for his magic moves throughout the night…
Wonder who threw-up the refreshingly rad visuals at the Big Time Out? New addition to the scene, Tetragrammaton, continues to mold the space with his creative approach to messing with our visual reality. Revered by all who witness his work, this fang-banger will demand your attention, whether you know it or not. Hell yeah…
Join us and howl at the moon…
(Prizes for top theme costumes, of course)
